reba siberian snow tigerThe Scranton Zoo is run by the Genesis Wildlife Sanctuary, a non-profit organization started to rescue exotic and endangered animals. It costs approximately $150,000 a year to run the facility.

Much of the expenses are covered through corporate gifts including food provided by Gerrity’s Supermarket Inc., appliances from Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse and paint from Scranton Grinder & Hardware. Along with these, the City of Scranton gives a small monetary amount each year.

However, it isn’t nearly enough. The Zoo is expensive to run but very much worth the effort and time especially after just one look at the lovable animals.

We ask you to please donate any amount that you can to help.

You have the opportunity to sponsor an animal of your choice. Money will be used to provide food, clean blankets, veterinarian care and anything else that will be used to take care of the animals’ needs.
