Mourning a Loss…

The 15-year-old tiger named Reba was the unofficial mascot of the Genesis Wildlife Center and was just recently treated for seizures.

Volunteers and visitors said Reba will be missed.

The tears flowed today in memory of Reba who died Tuesday night at Nay Aug Park.

“She raised Reba from a cub and she’s taken care of that cat and that cat has taken care of her. It’s essentially a real blow to us here at Genesis,” said Scott Evans of the Genesis Wildlife Center.

It took 10 people to carry the tiger back to her cage last month following an MRI and some blood tests to try to find out why she was having seizures.

Evans said Reba recently went to the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.

“And essentially everything was negative, but they did indicate that she may have a problem with the seizures and last night she finally succumbed to it,” Evans added.
